No high from CBD oil
First of all, it is good to know that you should not expect changes in consciousness, as is the case with cannabis. So you cannot get high from CBD oil, as long as you choose good quality oil which has been extensively tested. CBD oil is made from hemp plants, and not from cannabis plants. These plants are very similar in appearance, but there is an important difference. The THC content in hemp plants is many times lower than in cannabis plants, from which coffee shop weed is made. As a result, CBD oil only contains a very low (lower than the maximum legally permitted amount) THC content, and you will therefore not experience any psychological side effects.
CBD oil short term side effects
With normal use, CBD has no side effects in the short term. Some people may experience stomach or intestinal problems, but this is due to the oil and not the CBD. Do you also suffer from this? Then is Water-based CBD a good option.
Furthermore, it is in principle not possible to CBD overdose to get. Even if you take three 10ml bottles of 5% CBD in one day, you will not suffer any health damage. However, if you take very large amounts of CBD (which we do not recommend), you may experience the following side effects:
- Headache
- Abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation
- Nausea and vomiting
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Insomnia
- Red eyes
- Dry mouth
However, these side effects will disappear quickly. There are no known long-term side effects of CBD oil.
Be careful with CBD and medicines
Are you taking medications? To be on the safe side, first consult with your doctor or pharmacist before you start taking CBD daily. CBD can enhance or reduce the effect of certain medications or interact with substances from your medications. Be extra careful if you are taking medications such as antihistamines, antibiotics, pain relievers, blood thinners, beta blockers, or cancer medications.
CBD and pregnant
Are you pregnant or do you want to become pregnant? Even then it is better not to use CBD oil for a while. You naturally want the very best for your child and not run any risks. Certain substances, such as alcohol and tobacco, are known to negatively affect the development of unborn children. And although this does not apply to CBD, too little is still known about the effect of CBD on pregnancy. That is why we recommend not taking CBD if you are pregnant or want to become pregnant.
Side effects of poor quality CBD
CBD oil from reliable brands is extensively tested and therefore meets the highest requirements in terms of quality and safety (including EFSA and SKAL). Be careful with CBD oil from unknown brands and without certificates. It often happens that the THC content in these oils is higher than permitted. This can lead to dry mouth, anxiety and blurred vision. In addition, these CBD oils may contain (traces of) pesticides and heavy metals because they are made with plants that grow on contaminated soil. This can lead to a large number of health problems, ranging from skin rashes to respiratory problems and intestinal complaints. So always choose CBD oil from well-known brands!
Side effects of CBD oil on animals
Do you give your pet CBD or do you want to start doing so? Then it is good to know that CBD does not cause serious side effects in pets. Take it easy with the dose, because too high a dose can lead to drowsiness and fatigue in your pet. Preferably also choose a special CBD oil cats of dogs for your four-legged friend. Terpenes give off a very strong odor, which is not pleasant for your cat or dog.

- Choose CBD oil of #1 quality.
- Initially, stick to the prescribed dosage (we recommend starting with approximately 15 mg per day if you weigh 75 kg).
- Are you taking medications? Always consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- Choose one if necessary CBD oil without THC in case of hypersensitivity to THC.
- Use CBD without terpenes for your pets.
